cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, breakfast was good
Bar in the courtyard, so it was very noisy in the rooms in the evening. There might have been a few more hooks in the bathroom. Towels couldn't dry properly like that.

Helpful service, adequate classic double room with coffee, a very comfortable bed, as example. Brilliant and awesome location to the Piccadilly station, and only about 10 minutes' walk to Manchester centre. Again, not far from Gay Village....

The staff.
The room was right next to the elevator. The constant driving noises were not pleasant.

Location
It was the hotel from hell with noise all evening from nearby students and even more very loud noise throughout the night. Reception did not answer our phone call when we tried to complain about the noise!
